What to do first
Before the quarry or charcoal kiln is available, use River Valley exploration as a short-term coal route and keep a reserve for named upgrades.
Before you start
- Check whether your current objective needs coal before using it for optional construction.
- Bring the movement ability and return supplies your route requires.
- Do not count a hidden cave or chest as a permanent respawn source.
A practical first-days route
- Start in River Valley and inspect darker rocks with orange flecks as a player-reported lead.
- If you have the required movement, check the small hidden cave near the beginning of the valley.
- Reserve coal for the immediate quest/tool gate first, then consider farm upgrades.
- Once unlocked in your save, compare charcoal-kiln production with exploration instead of repeating a one-time route.
