What to do first
Use Deer Statue Pond / Forest Pond as the first place to test: the names vary by player report, and Gold Fish is recorded there in a personal catch log.

A practical first-days route
- Reach the forest pond area and confirm its in-game label if one is shown.
- Fish a short repeatable session with your current rod and log all conditions.
- If the route is blocked, recheck movement abilities and the player's hidden-path lead.
- Change only one condition per new attempt and keep unsuccessful attempts in the log.
